We have about 100 acres, but we don't have a clue about farming so we let the land to a local farmer, Raymond, who you will see zooming aroound on his quad bike ( or muck spreading near your cottage - one of the joys of living in the country!) In the spring it is lovely to see the lambs (If you ask Raymond, you may be able to see a lamb being born, or bottle feed a lamb)
There are deer around, but you have to be lucky to spot them. Early morning or in the evening seems to be the best time.
Our friend Simone often brings her hawks to exercise them hunting the rabbits
This pheasant nested in the Adventure Playground! It is very difficult to spot her on her nest.
The wild flowers are a delight, especially the orchid (left)
A pheasant nested only 6 feet away from the door of Rock House Farm and, despite people staying in the house, managed to hatch 7 chicks! Bird watching does not come much closer! We hope she will be back again.
Next door at Greenends, they have Alpacas (not to be confused with Llamas)
