If you want a change from staying in the countryside and want a seaside holiday, we can recommend an old fisherman's cottage in Whitby. In addition to the family bakery business, our friends Mike & Sarah have a holiday cottage for 4 in the heart of this quaint town/fishing port. The bread from their bakery is super and they have several excellent cafes.
THE place to eat (particularly if you like fish) is the Magpie Cafe on the harbour. There will be a queue, but it is well worth the wait whether you want good old Fish & Chips or something more exotic.
